How can one be a responsible and an empathetic community member? What are the major responsibilities of the community? The term ‘community’ embodies the importance of each and every member as we have witnessed that the existence of a community can allow greater change amongst the people coming from any race, culture, background and religion. Participation in community life is vital for health and wellbeing, promoting a sense of belonging, networks of social support and opportunities for physical activity. At Advocating Care Services, we understand the need for participant’s community engagement; hence our support is designed to enable expansion of your social circles and friendships.
We offer persons living with disabilities, a wide range of support requirements in order to be integrated into their communities, to participate in activities that are meaningful and necessary, and to have access, to community living. In addition to the physical aspects of community integration, we care about the social and psychological aspects of community integration too. Our purpose is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others. The different recreational activities you can select to participate one on one or in a group setting include but not limited to:
- Visiting local clubs
- Watching movies at the cinema
- Going to the library
- Attend or participate in a sport
- Arrange eat outs (lunch or dinner)
- Gardening, walking, hiking
